Description of Covid-19 Vaccines and Catholic Moral Teaching

Can a Catholic in good conscience be vaccinated against Covid-19?

With a new surge in cases of the coronavirus hitting the United States, we also have the promise that a vaccine will soon be available, possibly even before the end of the year. Catholics may have questions and concerns about the origin of these vaccines and if they can accept them in good conscience.

Please join us for an online discussion on December 7 at 7:00 PM regarding these issues with John Brehany, PhD, STL, a moral theologian and the Director of Institutional Relations for The National Catholic Bioethics Center.

Dr. Brehany is well qualified to address this topic from a solidly orthodox position as a highly regarded Catholic moral theologian. He will provide an overview of the vaccines currently in development with regard to the morality of their origin and manufacture, and answer questions you may have about their use.
